The 2024 Grant Park 165 is set to take place at the Chicago Street Course on Sunday, July 7. The event will be telecast on NBC Sports and MRN at 4:30 pm ET. Located in Chicago, Illinois, it will be the 20th race of the 2024 NASCAR season and will see the Next Gen car in action for the second time.
The Chicago Street Course is a 2.2-mile-long street course featuring 12 turns, including a front straight that offers stunning views of Lake Michigan along Lake Shore Drive. The track was added to the schedule for the second consecutive year in the 75-year history of the sport and will host the Cup Series and Xfinity Series on July 6-7.

The venue hosted the Cup race at Chicago Street Course for the first time in 2023. It will be the second annual Grant Park 165 at Chicago Street Course. The 40 drivers entering this week’s Cup Series race will compete across 75 laps in 165 miles. The Cup Series weekend will begin with practice and qualifying sessions on Saturday, July 6, followed by the main event on Sunday.
Shane van Gisbergen and Trackhouse Racing enter as the defending winners after securing a thrilling victory in last year’s Grant Park 165. Van Gisbergen will look to defend his title this week. This will be his third start of the series with Kaulig Racing.
The historic weekend will also feature a music festival on Saturday and Sunday, with performances from Keith Urban and The Chainsmokers.
The current points table leader, Kyle Larson, has been in top form and will be one of the strong contenders to win this week. He has already scored three wins and eight top-five finishes.
