Ten races have taken place in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. 23XI Racing driver Tyler Reddick became the seventh different winner of the season after winning the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, April 21.
In a thrilling race, Reddick avoided a multi-car wreck on the final lap and went on to cross the finish line in P1.
With the win, Reddick gained 47 points and locked himself into the 16-driver field in the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs. He moved from eighth to fifth place on the points table with 316 points, one win, and four top-fives.
After finishing P21 at Dega, Kyle Larson maintained the top spot in the points table. He was awarded 24 points and has a 15-point lead over Martin Truex Jr. with 359 points.
Ryan Blaney, the defending NASCAR Cup Series champion, finished 20th. With a P20 finish, he gained 24 points and is seventh on the points table with 302 points.
Michael McDowell, who started on the pole, failed to utilize the advantage and finished 31st after he crashed on the final lap, blocking competitors from coming to the checkered flag. He gained only six points and stands 26th on the points table with 157 points.
