NASCAR 2024: Preview and odds table for FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway

FireKeepers Casino 400 marks the 24th race of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. The green flag will drop at 2:30 pm ET on Sunday, August 18, at the Michigan International Speedway.

The two-mile-long D-shaped oval track comprises 18 degrees of banking in turns, 12 degrees of banking at the start/finish line, and five degrees of banking at the backstretch. Michigan International Speedway hosts NASCAR’s two national series, the Cup and Xfinity Series and ARCA Menards Series.

A total of 36 drivers will contest over 200 laps in this week’s Cup Series race. This will be the 32nd annual event hosted by the Michigan International Speedway in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Heading to Michigan International Speedway, Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin is the favorite, per the odds table, at +550, to win the FireKeepers Casino 400 this week, according to motorsportswire.com. Hamlin has won this event two times.

Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson has the second highest odds, at +650, to win on Sunday. Larson has three victories at Michigan. They are followed by the defending NASCAR Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney at +800, Martin Truex Jr. at +800, Tyler Reddick at +900, Joey Logano at +1000, and Christopher Bell at +1000 in the top five odds.

Chris Buescher, the defending winner at Michigan, is coming this weekend with the seventh-highest odds at +1400. Last week winner Austin Dillon has the 15th highest odds at +13000.
