The Grant Park 165 marks the 20th race of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. The green flag will drop at 4:30 pm ET on Sunday, July 7, at the Chicago Street Course.
The 2.2-mile-long street course comprises 12 turns, including a front straight that offers stunning views of Lake Michigan along Lake Shore Drive. Chicago Street Course hosts NASCAR’s all-two national series, the Cup and the Xfinity Series.
A total of 40 drivers will contest over 75 laps in this week’s Cup Series race. This will be the second annual event hosted by the Chicago Street Course in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Heading to Chicago Street Course, three-time Supercars champion Shane van Gisbergen is the favorite, per odds table, at +500, to win the Grant Park 165 this week, according to motorsportswire.com.
Van Gisbergen is the defending winner. He was the seventh driver in Cup history to win a Cup race on debut.
Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell have the second-highest odds, at +600, to win on Sunday.
Larson and Bell finished fourth and 18th, respectively, in the inaugural Chicago Street Race last year. They are followed by Tyler Reddick at +650, Chase Elliott at +800, Michael McDowell at +1200, and Martin Truex Jr. at +1200 in the top-five odds.
