JR Motorsport on Tuesday announced that Carson Kvapil will compete for them in the Xfinity Series under full-time obligation in 2025. Kvapil, who already had a part-time role with Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s team this year, will take over the #1 Chevrolet car of Sam Mayer.
Mayer is moving to the Cup Series to drive the #41 Ford Mustang Dark Horse of Haas Factory Team, and Earnhardt Jr. wasted no time in bringing young Kvapil into the team from next season. Bass Pro Shops will sponsor Kvapil's #1 Chevrolet next season.
Announcing the move, JR Motorsport shared a post on X. They wrote:
"The call he's been waiting for. JR Motorsports is proud to promote @Carson_Kvapil to FULL TIME @NASCAR_Xfinity Series racing in 2025 with backing from @BassProShops."
The 40-second video clip had Kvapil working with the #88 Xfinity Series car and then getting on a phone call with the former NASCAR driver. In the call, Kvapil shared his excitement about starting for JR Motorsport and firing up his Chevrolet at Daytona.
