NASCAR is shifting from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval track to the short track of the Richmond Raceway this weekend for the 2024 Cook Out 400.

The weekend will be full of thrilling racing action, as the 0.75-mile-long short track of the NASCAR Cup Series will host Next Gen cars for the sixth time since 2022.

Fresh off the weekend in Speedway, Indiana, it will be interesting to see how drivers cope with the unknown challenges in Richmon, Virginia, at Cook Out 400.

Thirty-seven NASCAR Cup Series cars will start on Sunday, August 11, to compete over 400 laps and 300 miles of thrilling racing at the Richmond Raceway.

A lot of Cup action is coming this weekend, leading to Sunday’s Cook Out 400. The Cup practice session kicks off the weekend with practice and qualifying sessions on Saturday (August 10), which will determine the starting lineup for the 23rd race of the season.

After winning the previous race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway before the Olympic break, Kyle Larson gained the top position in the NASCAR Cup Series points table with 749 points.

Larson’s Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott is second with 739 points, followed by Tyler Reddick with 734 points, Denny Hamlin with 706 points, and Ryan Blaney with 676 points to complete the top five.
