NASCAR Cup Series 2024: Preview and odds table for South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

The South Point 400 marks the 33rd race of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season and the seventh playoff race. The green flag will drop at 2:30 pm ET on Sunday, October 20, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The 1.5-mile-long quad-oval-shaped track comprises 20 degrees of banking in each turn and 9 degrees on the front and backstretch. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway hosts NASCAR’s two national series, the Cup and Xfinity Series.

Thirty-seven drivers will contest over 267 laps in this week’s Cup Series race. This will be the seventh annual event hosted by Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Heading to the Las Vegas fall race, 2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson is the favorite to win the South Point 400 this week at +300, according to sportscasting.com. Larson is the defending winner of the Las Vegas fall race and holds three victories at this track.

William Byron has the second-highest odds to win on Sunday at +750. Byron is followed by Christopher Bell at +850, Denny Hamlin at +850, Tyler Reddick at +900, and Joey Logano at +1100 in the top five odds.

Ryan Blaney, the defending NASCAR Cup Series champion, has the sixth highest odds at +1200 to win Sunday’s (October 20) South Point 400. Blaney finished sixth at Las Vegas last year.
