After an eventful Richmond race, the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series heads to Brooklyn, Michigan, with FireKeepers Casino 400.

The 24th race of the season is expected to be exciting as the Next Gen car will run for the third time at the Michigan International Speedway. All drivers taking the field will be racing to win Sunday’s (August 18) 200-lap race at the two-mile-long D-shaped oval track.

Along with the win, there will be monetary rewards for the winners across NASCAR’s all two national series. In 2024, the Cup Series race at the Michigan International Speedway boasts a prize pool of $7,902,750.

Meanwhile, the Xfinity Series races will reward the winner with $1,367,917.

Live action of the Michigan Cup race can be enjoyed live on NBC Sports, USA Network, Peacock, and MRN. It will be broadcast on Sunday at 2:30 pm ET.

All 36 drivers participating across NASCAR’s two national series will compete for monetary incentives this weekend in Brooklyn, Michigan.

Renowned FOX Sports journalist Bob Pockrass tweeted the total prize pool that will be up for grabs this weekend at Michigan across the Cup and Xfinity Series:

“Purses for Michigan weekend including all payouts, all positions, contingency awards, contribution to season-ending point fund, and for Cup, payout for the race and past three-year overall performance, etc.: Cup: $7,902,750 Xfinity: $1,367,917”

FireKeepers Casino 400 Prize Money Breakdown: How much will the winner make at the Michigan International Speedway?

According to NASCAR journalist Bob Pockrass, the winner of the 2024 FireKeepers Casino 400 is likely to receive between eight and 10 percent of the total purse. The remaining purse will be divided among the full-time NASCAR Cup Series' 36 charter teams according to their finishing position, charter status, etc.

As per this assumption, the winner of Sunday’s FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan will likely get eight to 10 percent of the overall prize money of $7,902,750, which means a check of around $500,000–700,000.

NASCAR Cup Series action begins with practice on Saturday (August 17) at 12:35 pm ET, followed by qualifying at 1:20 pm ET, while the main event is on Sunday. Practice and qualifying for the 24th race can be watched live on NBC Sports.
