NASCAR influencer Taylor Kitchen claimed that Ty Gibbs could be one of the 2025 Cup Series season's maiden race winners. The sport has witnessed at least one new race winner every season since 2016, and there is a possibility that it will continue this year as well.
Kitchen also touted the likes of Carson Hocevar, Todd Gilliland, and Ryan Preece to win races this season.
"I think it’s a given Gibbs gets at least one win this season," she wrote, replying to NASCAR's post on X. "I wouldn’t be surprised if Hocevar, Gilliland or Preece win either."
Ty Gibbs debuted in the Cup Series with 23XI Racing in 2022 and moved to a full-time seat with Joe Gibbs Racing the following season. Last year, he managed to remain consistent enough with two pole positions to qualify for the playoffs based on points. However, he was eliminated at the end of the Round of 16 and eventually finished the season in 15th place in the standings.
Gibbs is set to continue with the team in 2025 as well, piloting the #54 Toyota. However, he will witness a change as his crew chief, Chris Gayle, will no longer be working with him after JGR went through some management changes.

Joe Gibbs Racing announced earlier that Denny Hamlin's crew chief, Chris Gabehart was promoted. He would work as the team's competition director in 2025, leaving a blank spot in the #11 crew.
Ty Gibbs' spotter, Chris Gayle, was then called to fill in for Gabehart. He will part ways with Gibbs and work with Denny Hamlin from 2025 onwards. Reacting to this shift, Gibbs mentioned that it was "healthy" to witness changes in sport. The 22-year-old also gave his grandfather Joe Gibbs' example, who was an NFL head coach and won three Super Bowls with three different quarterbacks.
"I think stuff changes," he told Bob Pockrass. "I think my grandfather won three Super Bowls with three different quarterbacks, so I think stuff changes, and it's healthy. I think that it will work its way when Gabehart is going to go do this deal, so I'm hopefully excited for the future, and hopefully we run really great next year in one of our races."
Ty Gibbs' grandfather, Joe Gibbs, was the head coach of the Washington Redskins (now called Washington Commanders). Under his supervision, the team won three Super Bowls in 1982, 1987, and 1991. After his retirement from football, Joe Gibbs moved towards motorsports and founded Joe Gibbs Racing in 1992.
Ty Gibbs was largely successful in the Xfinity Series with the team, winning the championship after amassing seven wins in 2022.
