With Chase Briscoe heading to Joe Gibbs Racing next year, the driver has reportedly been flying on the team’s plane. However, according to sources, he found his recent flight “awkward” with his future team.

Chase Briscoe is an Indiana native who currently competes for the Stewart-Haas Racing team. He will replace the retiring Martin Truex Jr. next year in the No. 19 Toyota Camry at Joe Gibbs Racing following the imminent discontinuation of SHR.

In a report by NASCAR insider Jeff Gluck, Briscoe hopped on the JGR plane to check on his wife, Marissa Briscoe, as the couple is expecting twins. The flight was offered by team owner Joe Gibbs, who is worth $60 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.

The said flight took place after the Bristol night race where Briscoe advanced while JGR drivers Martin Truex Jr. and Ty Gibbs were eliminated.

“With Chase Briscoe on baby watch (twins soon!), future team owner Joe Gibbs has been offering him rides on the JGR plane. He flew home with JGR last week from Bristol after knocking some of their cars out, which he said was a little awkward (but SHR didn't have a plane go up),” Gluck wrote on X.

Chase Briscoe is competing in the playoffs in the No. 14 SHR Ford Mustang. He is on the bottom of the playoff standings and -7 below the cutline along with Austin Cindric, Daniel Suarez, and Alex Bowman, respectively.

All teams under SHR are working together to help Briscoe advance in the playoffs. As such, the over-the-wall crew from the No. 4 team of Josh Berry is assigned to work on the No. 14 Ford moving forward.

Chase Briscoe feels confident heading to Kansas Speedway

Chase Briscoe was asked about his thoughts on his return to Kansas Speedway considering it is said to be the first "normal” 1.5-mile track since spring. He believes the No. 14 team should be able to compete for good points.

Briscoe via Frontstretch said:

“As far as a mile and half-style race, out of everything we’ve done recently, that’s [Darlington Raceway] the closest comparison, and I thought from where we were in April or whatever it was when we raced in Darlington the first time to the last time we went there was quite different.” [0:41]
“So I think if we could just make our program kind of make that same jump then it should be way better,” the Ford driver added. “I’m confident that we should be able to be in the mix but it’s still obviously going to take execution and a fullcomplete weekend.” [0:55]

For a short recap, Briscoe’s last visit at the Kansas Speedway in May this year saw him finish in P21 after starting from P10.

Now, the 29-year-old driver will start in 9th in Row 5 behind six playoff drivers, including Ryan Blaney and Denny Hamlin in Row 4. Christopher Bell has taken the pole position, followed by Ty Gibbs and Kyle Busch, respectively.
