The final night of the 42nd running of the 4-Crown Nationals of the NASCAR Kubota High Limit Racing Series got done and dusted on Saturday, September 21, at Eldora Speedway, with 24 entries.
Rico Abreu, driving the #24 entry, secured his eighth Kubota High Limit Racing victory of the season in the Saturday night main event. It marked Abreu’s fourth career 4-Crown Nationals victory. Two of his 4-Crown National victories are now in the winged Sprint Car (including 2021), and two are in the Midget (2013 and 2016).
Abreu started the race from the pole, leading all 30 laps, and never looked back en route to a dominant victory. The 2014 USAC National Midget Series champion crossed the finish line by an impressive margin of 0.820 ahead of Jacob Allen to take the checkered flag.
Meanwhile, Jacob Allen finished runner-up, followed by Spencer Bayston, Anthony Macri and Justin Peck in the top five. Brent Marks, Hendrick Motorsports, and Kyle Larson’s brother-in-law, Brad Sweet, James McFadden, Cory Eliason, and Zeb Wise completed the top 10 in Friday’s 4-Crown Nationals running order.
