The final night of the 2024 Commonwealth Clash of the NASCAR Kubota High Limit Racing Series got done and dusted on Saturday, September 14, at Lernerville Speedway, with 24 entries.
Tyler Courtney, driving the #7BC entry, secured his sixth NASCAR Kubota High Limit Racing victory of the season in the Saturday night main event at Lernerville Speedway.
Courtney led a race-high 21 of 40 laps and held off a fierce challenge from Lernerville regular Sye Lynch en route to a dominant victory. He crossed the finish line by an impressive margin of 2.772 seconds ahead of Lynch to take the checkered flag.
The 25-year-old Sprint car driver got prize money of $50,000 to win the Commonwealth Clash.
Speaking about the win, Courtney said (via tribllive.com):
“That feature was anything but boring from my vantage point. Corey crashed, then Brent got a flat, and then Sye was giving me everything he had on the bottom of the track. I had to really get up in the seat and try not to screw up on the curb and get up over it. I’ve seen a lot of guys do that here.”
Meanwhile, Sye Lynch finished runner-up, followed by James McFadden, Tanner Thorson, and Spencer Bayston in the top five.
Hendrick Motorsports, and Kyle Larson’s brother-in-law, Brad Sweet, Jacob Allen, Emerson Axsom, Zeb Wise, and Chris Windom completed the top 10 in Saturday’s Commonwealth Clash running order.
