Mark Martin has crossed paths with the world of hip-hop. The former NASCAR driver has made a surprising cameo on Gucci Mane's latest album, Greatest of All Trappers (Gangsta Grillz Edition).
The collaboration features Martin on GOAT, the album's introductory track. He announced the collaboration update with the rap icon Mane recently on his official X account.
The NASCAR Hall of Famer tagged Gucci Mane on X, writing:
"I may not have ever won a Cup Championship BUT I made on GOAT @gucci1017 song."
Interestingly, Dan DiOrio of Barstool Sports and Rubbin is Racing also features on the song in collaboration with Martin. The song includes a snippet from an old interview with Martin where he praises the rapper. The announcement, as well as the song, has found traction and has become a fan favorite already.
Besides the numerous likes and reposts, fans, including Jeff Gluck, the Athletic's NASCAR reporter, shared their positive reactions in the comments section. Gucci Mane also reposted Mark Martin's post from his official account.
Martin has one of the longest NASCAR Cup Series careers in the sport's history. His Cup Series career spanned more than 31 years. He appeared in 882 races and claimed 40 race wins.
Mark Martin was inducted in the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2017 and was also included in the Greatest 75 NASCAR drivers of all time list. During his Cup Series career, he failed to win a championship. This led to some giving him the tag of the best driver to never win a championship.
Mark Martin blamed NASCAR for the Austin Dillon situation
Austin Dillon's aggressive move on Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin earned him ample criticism at the recently concluded Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway. While many held him responsible for the ruckus, others, including Mark Martin, blamed NASCAR for this.
"I don't necessarily agree with it, but it is largely due to the format," Martin said on DJD Reloaded. "I mean, this all started, you know, I'm a purist. I'm a racer. I grew up in an era where, respect and honor and dignity were everything."
Speaking about Dillion's move to take the victory, he added:
"I would agree with that. You know, I can come at this from a couple of different angles. The first angle is straight up fan. I was sitting watching the race by myself and I laughed out loud. I mean, it was so outrageous that I laughed. You know, it takes balls to do what Austin Dillon did."
However, Austin Dillon's victory at Richmond did not help him clinch a place in the NASCAR playoffs as his eligibility was revoked earlier this week.
