Front Row Motorsports (FRM) on Tuesday (November 19) announced that Todd Gilliland will take over the #34 Ford Mustang Dark Horse in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season. He moved to the FRM’s flagship #34 entry following the departure of Michael McDowell to Spire Motorsports next season.
Gilliland, who drove the #38 Ford for FRM in the 2024 Cup season, is excited to take a new role in the team and join hands as a member with the Love's Travel Stops family again. He partnered with Love’s Speedco brand in NASCAR’s third-tier series in 2020 and 2021.
In a team release, Todd Gilliland expressed his feelings about reuniting with his former sponsor and looking forward to taking on a new role in FRM, starting with the season-opening race at Daytona.
“I do not take this next step lightly. I have seen the rise of the team and the new level of expectations. It is an honor that Love’s is putting their trust in me to continue to grow this team and compete for wins and get into the playoffs. I am gracious for this opportunity and look forward to 2025,” Gordon said.
According to FRM, the crew chief for Todd Gilliland and additional partners will be announced at a later date.
Gilliland will be joined by Noah Gragson as a teammate in 2025, but FRM has yet to announce the car number for Gragson. The team also has plans to expand its driver lineup to three charters next season.
“I still remember watching my dad race the Love’s Ford”: Todd Gilliland
Todd Gilliland, who will take over the #34 FRM Ford next season, was once piloted by his father David Gilliland during the 2011 NASCAR Cup Series season.
On representing his father’s #34 Love’s Travel Stops Ford Mustang company, Gilliland said:
“It is really humbling to race the No. 34 Love’s Travel Stops Ford Mustang beginning next season. It’s just another cool moment in my career to race for a company that represented my father at FRM. The 34 Ford is what started FRM in the Cup Series and there is a lot of history with Love’s, FRM, and my family. I still remember watching my dad race the Love’s Ford.”
Todd Gilliand showed progress this season. He scored four top-10 finishes, leading 130 laps with an average finish of 20.8 in 36 races. He ended the season in 22nd place in the NASCAR Cup Series championship standings, the best finish of his career.
The 24-year-old will look to clinch his first career Cup win in the 2025 season.
