NASCAR photographer Jacy Norgaard uploaded Kyle Larson and Ty Gibbs photos from the 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals on his X. Norgaard visited the Tulsa Expo Raceway as multiple NASCAR drivers are going to participate in the Super Bowl of Midget Racing starting January 13.
The two pictures uploaded by Norgaard were of Kyle Larson and Ty Gibbs Chili Bowl National midget cars. They were from the practice day at the Tulsa Raceway i.e. January 12, 2025, as the NASCAR driver slid their midget racers on the dirt track. The caption of the tweet read:
“Came to the Chili Bowl. Found some #NASCAR guys”
Ty Gibbs is making his Chili Bowl National debut at the 2025 event as JGR’s owner Joe Gibbs lifted the restrictions on the Joe Gibbs Racing drivers, which prevented them from racing on dirt tracks as a precautionary measure to avoid injury.
Ty Gibbs was clicked driving the #81 CB Industries car which featured a Monster Energy paint job. Monster Energy is one of Ty Gibbs' NASCAR sponsors and followed him to the Chili Bowl Nationals. Christopher Bell and Chase Briscoe are the other two JGR drivers in this year's midget car Super Bowl.
Former Chili Bowl Nationals winner Kyle Larson again returns to this year’s event after missing the event in 2023, but making a comeback in 2024. He made his Chili Bowl Nationals debut in 2008 at the age of 15, and he won his first race on the dirt track in 2020 and then doubled the tally the very next year in 2021.
Larson was clicked driving the #1K midget for Silva Motorsports. His midget featured a Blue and Red paint job sponsored by FloRacing and HendrickCars.com.
Ty Gibbs thanked Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell ahead of the 2025 Chili Bowl Nationals
Ty Gibbs' NASCAR teammate Christopher Bell is a three-time Chili Bowl Nationals champion and returns to the event as JGR lifted the restrictions. As Gibbs made his debut, he thanked his teammate and fellow NASCAR driver and two-time Chili Bowl Nationals champion Kyle Larson for the advice.
Speaking about how Larson and Bell helped him on the dirt track, Gibbs said:
"I love racing. I'm a fan of it, but also being able to drive it, I'm very proud and happy to do that, so a lot of smiles, and Christopher (Bell) been really helpful to me, and Kyle (Larson) helped me out, too. So this has been, it's just so fun, and it's cool to see, you know, this world kind of welcoming me into it is really cool. I feel thankful for that, so I'm just having a fun time."
The Chili Bowl Nationals will be held from January 13 to 18 at the Tulsa Expo Raceway. Kyle Busch will also be making his Chili Bowl Nationals debut alongside Ty Gibbs.
