Twenty-nine races have taken place in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. Kyle Larson clinched his fifth win of the season after winning the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at the Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday, September 21.
In a Bristol night race, Larson dominated the race, leading 462 of 500 laps, and never looked back till the checkered flag.
With the win, Larson locked his spot in the next round of the playoffs and gained 60 points. He moved into the top position in the NASCAR Cup Series playoff points table with 3047 points. He has a 15-point lead over Christopher Bell.
Alex Bowman, who started from pole, failed to use the advantage and finished ninth. He gained 41 points and is 11th in the playoff points table, seven points below the cutline for Round of 8.
Team Penske driver Joey Logano finished 28th in the Bass Pro Shops Night Race. He gained nine points and is second in the playoffs points table with 3012 points.
Chase Elliott finished P2 and gained 38 points. He moved to seventh place in the points table with 3014 points.
