Twenty-four races have taken place in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. Tyler Reddick clinched his second win of the season after winning the rain-delayed FireKeepers Casino 400 at the Michigan International Speedway on Monday, August 19.

In a race that was delayed due to rain, Reddick fended off William Byron in the second overtime and stayed out front to cross the finish line in P1.

With the win, Reddick gained 40 points and moved to fifth place in the Cup Series points table with 814 points.

Despite crashing out of the race at the end of Stage 2, Kyle Larson stayed in the top position in the playoff points table. However, Larson lost the regular-season points lead and is 32 points behind the new Reddick in the regular-season points table.

After a runner-up finish at Michigan, William Byron gained 50 points and moved to third position in the points table with 728 points.

Polesitter Denny Hamlin managed to recover from an early race incident and ended up finishing ninth. He gained 28 points and is second in the playoffs points table with 786 points. With two races remaining before the playoffs, Hamlin is in the mix for the regular season championship.

Ryan Blaney, the defending NASCAR Cup Series champion, finished 18th. He gained 30 points and is sixth in the points table with 732 points.
