Twenty-eight races have taken place in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. Chris Buescher clinched his first win of the season after winning the Go Bowling at The Glen at the Watkins Glen International on Sunday, September 15.
In a chaotic Watkins Glen race, Buescher passed road racing ace Shane van Gisbergen in an overtime finish to cross the finish line in P1.
With the win, Buescher, who is not in playoffs gained 40 points and moved to 18th in the Cup Series points table with 731 points.
After a P14 finish at Watkins Glen, Christopher Bell gained 23 points and moved into top position in the NASCAR Cup Series playoff points table with 2089 points. He has a three-point lead over Austin Cindric.
Martin Truex Jr., who started from pole, failed to use the advantage and finished 20th. He gained 27 points and is 15th in the playoff points table, 14 points below the cutline for Round of 12.
Team Penske driver Austin Cindric finished 10th in Go Bowling at The Glen. He gained 33 points and is second in the playoffs points table with 2086 points.
Kyle Larson finished 12th and gained 28 points. He moved from 10th to ninth place in the points table with 2069 points.
