Twenty-seven races have taken place in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. Joey Logano clinched his second win of the season after winning the Quaker State 400 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway on Sunday, September 8.
In a thrilling Atlanta race, Logano held off Daniel Suarez on an overtime restart to park his #22 Ford in the victory lane.
With the win, Logano advanced to the Round of 12 and gained 47 points. He moved from ninth to fifth in the Cup Series playoffs points table with 2054 points.
After a runner-up finish, the defending NASCAR Cup champion Ryan Blaney gained 42 points and moved into top position in the Cup Series playoff points table with 2071 points. He has a five-point lead over Christopher Bell.
Michael McDowell, who started from pole, failed to use the advantage and finished 22nd. He gained 15 points and is 23rd in the playoffs points table with 483 points.
Regular-season champion Tyler Reddick finished sixth. He gained 31 points and is third in the playoffs points table with 2059 points.
Kyle Larson faced an early exit in the NASCAR playoffs after being involved in a crash on Lap 56 at Atlanta. He gained just one point and moved 10th in the points table with 2041 points.
