Thirty-three races have taken place in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season. Joey Logano clinched his third win of the season after winning the South Point 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Sunday, October 20.
In a thrilling Las Vegas, Logano passed Daniel Suarez with six laps to go and then held off the charge of Christopher Bell to cross the finish line in P1.
With the win, Logano gained 49 points and advanced to the Championship 4 race. He moved to the fourth position in the NASAR Cup Series points table with 4061 points.
After a runner-up finish at the 1.5-mile Vegas track, Christopher Bell gained 54 points and moved to the top position in the NASCAR Cup Series points table with 4086 points. He has a seven-point lead over Kyle Larson and a 42-point cushion in the standings.
Tyler Reddick, who started from the front row, failed to use the advantage and finished 35th. He gained 12 points and is sixth in the playoff points table, 30 below the cutline for the Championship 4 race.
Kyle Larson finished 11th in the South Point 400. He gained 27 points and is second in the playoffs points table with 4079 points.
Chase Elliot finished 33rd after being involved in an accident on Lap 89. He gained four points and placed at the final spot in the standings with 53 points below the cutline. He needs to win the remaining one of the two rounds of eight races to advance to the Championship 4.
