NASCAR is a game of speed and so was Sunday's (August 4) 100m Men's Sprint race at the Paris Olympics 2024, which Noah Lyles of the USA won, edging Jamaica's Kishane Thompson by 5,000th of a second. According to NASCAR, Lyles' close win resembled the three-wide photo finish in Atlanta earlier this year.

The 1.54-mile track witnessed reigning Cup Series champion Ryan Blaney, Kyle Busch, and Daniel Suarez running next to each other, trying to grab the lead. The race even saw the lead change 49 times among 14 different drivers. Front Row Motorsports driver Todd Gilliland led the most number of laps (58), followed by Austin Cindric (32), who also won Stage 2.

Daniel Suarez took the lead for the first time in lap 248 and held on to it for the next eight laps. Although Suarez fell a few spots behind soon after, he managed to find his way to the front of the pack and finish 0.003 seconds ahead of runner-up Blaney.

NASCAR reflects on "The best honeymoon ever!" ft. Daniel Suarez

Daniel Suarez tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Julia Piquet on July 30 in Brazil. Piquet is the daughter of three-time Formula 1 World Champion Nelson Piquet. Shortly after their wedding, Piquet shared a clip of their wedding dance on her X account.

Suarez kept the festive mood alive through his win. He finished P1 in his first Brasil Series race but was relegated to P6 due to a penalty. This time, Suarez finished P2 but was declared the winner after the initial race-winner Lucas Mendes received a penalty.

Meanwhile, NASCAR prepares to host the 23rd race of the season on August 11. The Cook Out 400, a 400-lap event, will be broadcast on NBC Sports and the USA Network. Watch Daniel Suarez in action as he looks forward to bagging his second win of the season.
