Kim Coon, the world-renowned NASCAR broadcaster recently posted a story on her Instagram where she said that she would be embarrassed to have a huge bank balance.
The Florida native started working as a pit reporter for Motor Racing Network, Inc., reporting on the top three NASCAR series, the Cup Series, the Xfinity Series, and the Truck Series. She was able to impress NBC officials with her charisma and versatility resulting in her joining NBC where she started work as a NASCAR reporter. In 2022, she became a pit reporter for NBC Sports's coverage of the NASCAR Cup and Xfinity Series. The 41-year-old also co-hosts the Glass Case of Emotion podcast with NASCAR driver Ryan Blaney and Chuck Bush.
She posted a story on Instagram saying that she would feel "embarrassed" to have a net worth of $421 billion (arguably suggesting Elon Musk's net worth). According to the post, the state of the money disparity that a net worth like this suggests would be deeply embarrassing for an individual with that much money. She reposted the original post by Instagram user, @babakganjei.
"If I had 421 billion dollars, in the world I am sitting in right now, I would be feeling a little bit embarrassed", it read.
Elon Musk is currently the richest man in the world. His net worth was $416.2 billion at the time of writing, and his main sources of income were his roles as CEO of Tesla, Inc. and the advancement of interplanetary exploration with SpaceEx.
Kim Coon on her chances of getting in a NASCAR car during the 2022 NASCAR All-Star Weekend
In an interview with WSIC News on Radio, Kim Coon appeared to discuss the All-Star Weekend at North Wilkesboro that upcoming weekend. When the reporter asked what were her chances of getting into a car and going around for a few laps on the track. She said:
"Oh gosh..probably not... definitely not driving. I don't know if they do ride alongs. I imagine if they are the list is quite long. So I am just gonna sit back and I am gonna be a spectator. You know when I am not on air and when I am on air I am going to be bringing all the great storylines to the fans. It would be pretty cool to get in a car and go along on the track"(5:06 onwards)
When asked about who would perform well at the race, she backed Hendrick Motorsports. At the top of the list in terms of drivers, She saw Joey Logano as a favorite, who drove the #20 for Joe Gibbs Racing at the time and had finished in the top 10 eight times (in a streak) at the time of the interview.
