NASCAR insider Dave Green recently claimed that Hailie Deegan has reportedly secured a ride with the Haas Factory Team for the 2025 Xfinity campaign. After an unexpected departure from AM Racing in her rookie Xfinity season, the 23-year-old Deegan's future in the NASCAR national series was up in the air.
Before joining NASCAR's second-tier division, Deegan competed full-time in the Truck Series for David Gilliland Racing and ThorSport Racing. In just 69 starts in the Ford trucks, Deegan accumulated five top-10 finishes.
However, she couldn't continue her run in the Xfinity Series. Deegan managed only four top-20 finishes after 17 starts, leading to her release.
In a recent development, a former NASCAR mechanic of the year, Dave Green claimed that the Deegan had landed a deal with Gene Haas' Haas Factory Team for a ride in the 2025 Xfinity Series.
Here's what Green posted on X:
"For the 2025 season, Hailie Deegan has secured a ride in one of the two Haas factory team Xfinity cars. With Cole Custer going back to the CUP Series, it made a seat available for her. This is a huge opportunity for her to grow in top-notch equipment. @HailieDeegan #NASCAR"
Following the news of Stewart-Haas Racing's closure at the end of the season, SHR co-owner Gene Haas, worth $250 million (according to Celebrity Net Worth), announced plans to field one Cup charter and maintain two charters in the Xfinity Series. The Gene Haas-led NASCAR team would be called the Haas Factory Team.
The defending Xfinity champion Cole Custer is set to reveal his plans for the 2025 NASCAR campaign soon. He is rumored to pilot the single-car charter in the Cup Series for HFT. If this move comes into play, Deegan would have a chance to compete in the Xfinity Series with a stronger structure.
Bob Pockrass suggests the best route for Hailie Deegan after her sudden departure from AM Racing
After an underwhelming performance in the Xfinity rookie season, Hailie Deegan was released by AM and since then, there has been a cloud of uncertainty surrounding her future.
In light of this news, Fox Sports' Bob Pockrass recently shared his opinion on what Deegan should do to transition to the next level. Pockrass said (via Fox Sport):
"Deegan needs to go to a place where she knows she can race for a couple of years. She needs to go somewhere with a strong structure in place to set reasonable goals for her to improve...She might even need a program where she runs select races in a variety of series from late models to Xfinity to help improve her weaknesses."
"Finding a believer — from sponsor, from owner, from crew chief — will be key to whether she can make a career out of stock-car racing," Pockrass added.
If rumours are to be believed, the Gene Haas-led Haas Factory Team will provide all the support that Deegan needs to flourish in this sport.
