Recently, NASCAR insider Jordan Bianchi shared his take on the possible Cup Series driver replacing Corey LaJoie behind the #7 Chevy for Spire Motorsports. LaJoie has been driving the Chevy with Spire since 2021 but now will be on the lookout for a ride in the 2025 NASCAR season.

LaJoie was the team's first full-time driver since its inception in 2018 and has been the most experienced Cup driver in the Spire lineup. The 32-year-old has competed in 258 races in a career span of over nine years in the Cup Series. The Charlotte native's best final ranking was a P25 which he managed last year.

As the NASCAR Silly Season inches toward the playoff rounds, The Athletic's Bianchi hinted at Rick Ware Racing's Justin Haley to be a possible replacement behind the #7 for Spire Motorsports. Speaking on Dale Jr. Download: Reloaded, Bianchi said:

"The names that we're looking at for the 7 car, one name to really keep an eye on is Justin Haley. There's a lot of things intertwined behind the scenes that are kind of this unfolding, but I would say Justin Haley's the leading contender over there."
"There's also another driver and I wouldn't feel comfortable saying his name right now, but he is in the cup series and that's another that's also someone else to keep an eye on" he added.

Haley is a 25-year-old Cup Series driver for Rick Ware Racing, piloting the #51 Ford full-time in the Cup Series. In his part-time debut run with Spire Motorsports, Haley collected his solitary win at the 2019 Coke Zero Sugar 400. Moreover, with his recent speed in the 2024 Cup Series season, Haley seems like a probable candidate for owner Jeff Dickerson and his Cup team.

"We have to win" - Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson on making big changes in the organization

Spire Motorsports recently has made noticeable changes to their team, especially to the #7 entry in the Cup Series. From relieving Corey LaJoie to signing a former Cup Series winning crew chief Rodney Childers and a veteran driver Michael McDowell.

In a conversation with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Spire's co-owner Jeff Dickerson revealed their goals of building the organization and achieving more victories. Dickerson said:

"We have to win. Like, you don't do these moves and not win. You don't do Rodney. You don't try to move on from Corey. You don't bring in some of the guys that we've been bringing on behind the scenes, you know, without, you know what I mean?
"We've talked about building it and building it and building it, right? And you guys have obviously all been riding shotgun on the whole journey with us, right? But it's like, we've just been talking about it so long where it's just like, hey, can we? You know what I mean? It's time."

NASCAR will be back in action on August 11 at Richmond Raceway for the Cook Out 400 event. This will be the fourth-last race of the regular season before drivers and teams head towards the 2024 playoff rounds.
