Ricky Stenhouse Jr. has reacted to Scottie Scheffler's gold medal win at the Paris Olympics. The reigning Masters Champion claimed the ultimate prize for Team USA at Le Golf National, triggering a response from the NASCAR driver on social media.
Scheffler continued to script history as he held off England's Tommy Fleetwood, who had to settle for the silver medal. The American's 62 in the final round proved too much for the British golfer to overcome, and in the end, the former claimed gold in men's golf.
So much so, that it compelled Stenhouse Jr. to share his thoughts on the event on X. The JTG Daugherty Racing driver wrote:
"Scottie, just unreal #USA #Olympic2024 #GOLD."
With his gold medal, Scottie Scheffler took his 2024 tally to five wins on the PGA Tour, the Masters title, and now an Olympic gold. As he kept 30,000 fans on the edge of their seats for a couple of hours, he made sure his Olympic performance went down as one of the best in the history of the sport.
Team USA's gold haul continues as they chase China for the top position on the medal table. The USA is in second place in the charts with 18 gold, 26 silver, and 25 bronze medals. China has 19 gold, 15 silver and 11 bronze medals.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. revealed golf makes his day better
Ricky Stenhouse Jr. once revealed that playing golf makes his day better. Speaking to the New York Times, the JTG driver stated that besides working out, he likes to play golf.
"When I’m having a crappy day, I work out," Stenhouse Jr. said. "Or if I’ve already done that, I like to go golf. Golf puts me in a good mood. I wake up in a great mood knowing I’m going to play golf, so if it’s a crappy day and there’s time left, going golfing is good."
A lot of NASCAR drivers like to play golf during their free time, and it turns out that Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was no different. No wonder why he took so much interest in Scottie Scheffler's performance for Team USA at the Paris Olympics.
