After a Charlotte ROVAL, the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series heads to Las Vegas, Nevada, for the South Point 400.

The seventh playoff race of the 2024 season is expected to be exciting as the Next Gen car will run for the sixth time at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. All drivers taking the field will be racing to win Sunday’s (October 20) 267-lap race at the 1.5-mile-long track.

Along with the win, there will be monetary rewards for the winners across NASCAR’s top-two national series. In 2024, the Cup Series Las Vegas fall race boasts a prize pool of $8,157,812. Meanwhile, the Ambetter Health 302 Xfinity Series race will reward the winner with $1,409,745.

Live action of the South Point 400 can be enjoyed live on NBC Sports, Peacock, and PRN. It will be broadcast on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. ET.


What is the South Point 400 prize money for 2024?

All 37 drivers participating in NASCAR’s top-tier series will compete for monetary incentives this weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Renowned FOX Sports journalist Bob Pockrass tweeted the total prize pool that will be up for grabs this Las Vegas weekend across the Cup and Xfinity Series.

“Purses for Vegas weekend, all payouts, all positions plus contingency awards, contribution to year-end points fund, etc., and for Cup, charter payouts based on racing each week and historical performance: Cup: $8,157,812 Xfinity: $1,409,745”

South Point 400 Prize Money Breakdown: How much will the winner expected to make at Las Vegas Motor Speedway?

According to NASCAR journalist Bob Pockrass, the 2024 South Point 400 winner will likely receive between eight and 10 percent of the total purse. The remaining purse will be divided among the full-time NASCAR Cup Series' 36 charter teams according to their finishing positions, charter status, etc.

As per the assumption, the winner of Sunday’s South Point 400 at Las Vegas will likely get eight to 10 percent of the overall prize money of $8,157,812, which means a check of around $600,000–800,000.

NASCAR Cup Series action begins with practice and qualifying on Saturday, October 19, at 4:35 p.m. ET and 5:20 p.m. ET, while the main event is on Sunday. Practice and qualifying session for this year’s seventh playoff race can be watched live on USA Network and NBC Sports.
