Team Penske’s account on X uploaded a video from the official account of its IndyCar and NASCAR drivers participating in a challenge. Joey Logano, Ryan Blaney, and Austin Cindric featured from the NASCAR drivers' list while Scott McLaughlin, Will Power, and Josef Newgarden participated from the IndyCar drivers' side.
The said competition was a guessing game where all six drivers were presented with an older tweet from a Team Penske driver, and they had to guess which driver had posted it. The caption of the challenge video post read, “Time for another guessing game: driver social media edition.”
First up was a tweet by Ryan Blaney which read, “Now I may be an idiot, but there is one thing that I am not sir, and that sir is an idiot.”
Joey Logano didn't have a single clue about who might have posted the same. Scott McLaughlin and Austin Cindric instantly guessed that it was Blaney, as the #2 Team Penske NASCAR driver suggested that it had Ryan written all over it. Ryan Blaney then confirmed that it was indeed him and that it was a quote from the show Family Guy.
Next up was a post by Scott McLaughlin which read, “Screaming kid on plane, noise canceling headphones.. What kid?”
Blaney was shocked at the fact that the post was from 2011. Josef Newgarden took three guesses as he said, “Cindric? Blaney? Logano?”, yet didn't get the right answer. McLaughlin then confirmed with a sneaky smile that it was indeed him.
The last one was a tweet by Josef Newgarden which read, “People rarely say bye bye when finishing a phone call. I'd like to bring that back.”
Logano confidently said that it was Austin, Blaney suggested that he's a guy who says bye bye and Will Power advised that it looked like a Josef Newgarden tweet, although he wasn't 100% sure. The #2 Team Penske IndyCar driver confirmed that it was him, and highlighted his disappointment at how people don't say bye anymore.
The 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season starts on February 2, and exactly a month later on March 2, the IndyCar season will get underway. With the news slowing down in the off-season, the teams usually post such challenge videos to keep the audience engaged with the sport.
Team Penske's Austin Cindric to participate in 24 Hours of Daytona
The #2 Ford driver in the NASCAR Cup Series Austin Cindric was announced as the driver for the Ford Multimatic Motorsports team at the 2025 Rolex 24 at Daytona. He will be driving the No. 64 Ford Mustang GT3 alongside Mike Rockenfeller and Sebastian Priaulx. The 2025 race will be Team Penske's driver's sixth time at the endurance event. Speaking about the same, Cindric said (via the press release):
“The 24 Hours of Daytona has become a very meaningful event for me and my career. This will be my sixth opportunity to run this race it’s one of the best opportunities I'll have had at taking one of those watches home.”
Austin Cindric will be replacing Ben Barker, the regular #64 driver who injured his collarbone in a skiing accident. Cindric’s best finish at the 24 Hours of Daytona is P5 during the 2019 and 2023 running of the event.
