NASCAR slammed Our Motorsports driver Anthony Alfredo with a fine of $25,000 and docked 25 driver points for breaking the NASCAR Member Code of Conduct at Phoenix Raceway. The penalty comes three days after the Xfinity Series Championship race on Tuesday.

Alfredo was penalized for his on-track actions during the final race of the 2024 season. The incident happened during lap 62 when Stefan Parsons and the Our Motorsports driver were battling for 20th place. The drivers made initial contact during turn four, causing the #5 Chevy driver to ram into the outside walls.

After making contact with the outside walls, Anthony Alfredo spun out Parsons with a rear hook and sent the #45 driver into the walls, resulting in a DNF finishing in last place in P38. NASCAR penalized Alfredo for reckless driving and held him for two laps.

After serving a two-lap penalty, the #5 Chevy driver continued racing till lap 154, and a flat right-front tire concluded his race, causing a wreck on turn one. Ultimately, Alfredo finished 36th, just two places above Stefan Parsons. Despite 25 driver points deduction, Anothy Alfredo finished 15th in the 2024 Xfinity Series season.

Anthony Alfredo raised awareness for diabetes after facing a penalty in the final race

In his third Xfinity season, Anthony Alfredo faced a two-lap penalty during the championship race. Despite the setback, he shared a heartfelt message for supporting his wife Emily Brooks on National Diabetes Awareness Month.

Alfredo tied the knot in January 2024 with his wife Brooks after dating for six years. The #5 driver shared a post on his X account expressing admiration for his wife and other people who face the daily challenges faced by Type-1 diabetes.

"November is #NationalDiabetesAwarenessMonth so I want to give a special shoutout to my wife for being my rock and best friend, all while battling Type 1 Diabetes ❤️ To all the strong individuals fighting T1D 24/7/365, you are warriors. #T1D #Type1Diabetes," Anthony Alfredo wrote.

Type 1 Diabetes is a chronic autoimmune disease that impacts around 2 million people in the United States of America, arising when the immune system mistakenly targets and destroys the insulin cells produced by the pancreas. World Diabetes Day is observed on November 14, raising awareness toward Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes and focusing on prevention and better treatment options.

Anthony Alfredo also teamed up with his primary sponsor, a nonprofit organization Beyond Type 1, founded by well-recognized Hollywood star Nick Jonas. The organization hosted an event, "Pit Stop For Health," at Atlanta Motor Speedway on September 7, 2024. Jonas' nonprofit organization also distributed complimentary tickets to the Focused Health 250, a NASCAR Xfinity Series race to raise awareness for the disease.
