NASCAR is shifting from the street race of Chicago Street Course to the triangle-shaped track of Pocono Raceway this weekend for the 2024 The Great American Getaway 400.

The weekend will be full of thrilling racing action, as the 2.25-mile oval track of the NASCAR Cup Series will host Next Gen cars for the third time since 2022.

Fresh off the weekend in Chicago, Illinois, it will be interesting to see how drivers cope with the unknown challenges in Long Pond, Pennsylvania, at The Great American Getaway 400.

Thirty-seven NASCAR Cup Series cars will start on Sunday, July 14, to compete over 160 laps and 400 miles of thrilling racing at the Pocono Raceway.

A lot of Cup action is coming this weekend, leading to Sunday’s Chicago Cup race. The Cup practice session kicks off the weekend with practice, followed by Cup qualifying on Saturday, July 13, which will determine the starting lineup for the 21st race of the season.

Despite finishing P39 at last week’s Grant Park 165 at Chicago Street Course, Kyle Larson stayed on top of the NASCAR Cup Series points table with 671 points.

Larson’s Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott is second with 660 points, followed by Tyler Reddick with 648 points, Denny Hamlin with 629 points, and Martin Truex Jr. with 601 points to complete the top five.
