Motorsport Games has announced a major shift for NASCAR video games next year. The company stated that all of its NASCAR game titles will be removed from digital marketplaces as it has sold the license to iRacing.

This means that games developed by Motorsports Games including NASCAR Heat, NASCAR Rivals, and NASCAR Ignition won't be available for purchase. However, the said games could still be played given they were acquired before the delisting.

The shakeup affects about 15 games, mostly console titles.

In an X (formerly Twitter) post, Motorsports Games said its game titles would be delisted from December 31, 2024.

"From December 31, 2024, all NASCAR game titles and their DLC content will no longer be available for purchase on all digital storefronts but will remain available to play after this time. This includes the @NASCARHeat, @NASCARRivals, and @NASCARignition franchises."

The company would provide discounts so interested players can still own the games before they are taken off the market.

"Please lookout for various platform promotions this December to complete your NASCAR console game collection while you can!"

Motorsports Games concluded:

"We sincerely thank our community for the enthusiasm and support you’ve shown for these games over the years and hope you have enjoyed racing with us."

The NASCAR 25 is planned for release in the second half of 2025 under new license holder and developer iRacing. The new video game will be available on all consoles and PC.

iRacing also has its own video game platform where users can drive stock cars from NASCAR's three national series: Cup, Xfinity, and Craftsman Truck. However, sim racing game can only played with a monthly or yearly subscription.

NASCAR Rookie of the Year Carson Hocevar shared almost winning an iRacing race

Last month, Carson Hocevar shared what he had been up to amid the NASCAR off-season. The 2024 Cup Series Rookie of the Year posted a clip of him almost winning a race in iRacing after avoiding the Big One.

Per X, Hocevar drove to the infield grass in his virtual stock pickup truck at the Atlanta Motor Speedway to avoid the multi-truck crash on the final lap.

"Almost just won this race after taking the white @iracing." Hocevar wrote.

While Carson Hocevar made slight contact with one of his fellow competitors during the crash, he managed to keep all four wheels on the track. However, he was passed from inside by the driver following him before the crash.

Hocevar didn't provide a lot of details about the virtual race. But from the looks of it, the 21-year-old driver finished second.

The Michigan native will return to the premier series with Spire Motorsports next year following a successful rookie season. He won the Rookie of the Year award over Josh Berry and now ex-teammate Zane Smith.
