Veteran broadcaster Jack Arute recently shared his thoughts on Kyle Larson's chances of finding the Indianapolis 500 victory lane in the coming years. This passing year, the Hendrick Motorsports driver debuted in the IndyCar Series while attempting the historic Memorial Day Double, which is the Indy 500 and NASCAR's Coca-Cola 600 race.

In May this year, the 2021 Cup Series champion Larson attempted the 1100-mile challenge of finishing the Indy race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and flying back for the Charlotte Motor Speedway race in 24 hours. However, due to uncontrollable weather conditions, the 32-year-old couldn't finish the Indy500 event on time and return to Charlotte to start the NASCAR race.

In a post on X, journalist Kyle Dalton shared an audio note from sportscaster Arute who discussed the possibility of the California native's chances of having success at the famed open-wheel racing event, the Indy 500. He said:

"I got to tell you, I think Kyle Larson, after what I witnessed up close and personal and also because of my ties with Tony Kanaan and Arrow McLaren and what he did in the way he adapted, and just how laudatory TK was about everything that the guy did, I honestly think he could become the first NASCAR driver to win 'The Greatest Spectacle in Racing'. If he keeps after it for the next couple of years, I truly believe that that's right there on the precipice of happening."

It is worth mentioning that Kyle Larson, who drove the #17 Arrow McLaren in partnership with Hendrick Motorsports, qualified for the Indy500 race fifth and finished the marquee event at P18. Additionally, he was honored with the Indy 500 Rookie of the Year award.

Moreover, Larson has been given a second opportunity to attempt the 2025 Indy500-Coke600 double.

"We have unfinished business" - Kyle Larson on getting a second opportunity with Arrow McLaren and Hendrick Motorsports

Kyle Larson has been presented a second opportunity to run the Indy 500 race, followed by the Coca-Cola 600 race next year. After a failed attempt in May, Larson is looking for redemption, provided the weather stays in his favor.

In a press release, HMS driver Larson said:

“I really enjoyed the month of May in Indy and racing with Arrow McLaren, but I was really disappointed with missing the Coca-Cola 600 with the No. 5 HendrickCars.com team. I appreciate the second opportunity because we have unfinished business. I really want to complete all 1100 miles, and I think we have the opportunity to battle for the win in both events.”

On the other hand, after Dave Moody's message about Kyle Larson's 'suicidal' career move in F1, the possibility of Rick Hendrick's star running Formula 1 races has been the recent topic of discussion
