Famed sportscaster Dave Moody recently shared his opinion on how things would turn out for Kyle Larson if the Hendrick Motorsports driver decides to venture into Formula 1.

In a post on X, journalist Kyle Dalton shared a voice note of Moody from a SiriusXM NASCAR Radio show, where the veteran broadcaster disputed the possibility of the 2021 Cup Series champion running the single-seater open-wheel race car. Moreover, he promptly deemed the chances of this transition to be 'suicidal' for the 32-year-old, despite his exceptional talent as a race car driver.

"You've heard me rave about Kyle Larson for years now," Moody said. "He can finish second in a shopping cart. But they are not going to pluck him. Nobody is going to pluck Kyle Larson or anybody else out of a NASCAR stock car and say, 'Come on kid, we're going to Europe and we're putting you in an F1 car.'"

The motorsports commentator empathized not only for Larson but the team would also have a disturbing ending to this trajectory. He added:

"Never, ever, ever going to happen. It would be, in career terms, suicidal for Kyle Larson to try and do that as talented as he is. And it would be suicidal for a team to try and have someone do such a thing."

Nevertheless, Moody still proposed a plan if the #5 Chevy driver Larson plans to switch to F1.

"So if Kyle Larson wants to go Formula 1 racing, he's three to five years down the road. Whether that would be something that he would entertain or not, don't know. But in my opinion, the only way to do it would be the way I just talked about. And it's not a one-year or a two-year deal," Moody concluded.

Seemingly, the veteran broadcaster remembered what the CEO of McLaren Racing had hinted at in a podcast back in September of this year.

"I think will happen down the road"- McLaren Racing's Zak Brown teased Kyle Larson competing in a Grand Prix

Earlier this year, Kyle Larson and Hendrick Motorsports collaborated with Arrow McLaren for the ace NASCAR driver's debut in the Indianapolis 500. Moreover, Elk Grove, California's partnership with McLaren sparked curiosity about the possibility of Larson running a Formula 1 race.

In a conversation with Kevin Harvick on the Happy Hour podcast, Zak Brown opened up on his discussion with Kyle Larson on the chances of the latter making the move to F1.

"Yeah, we've been chatting about it," Brown said. "Kyle, as you can imagine, definitely wants to do it in between our schedule, which goes from February to December, and NASCAR schedule, which I think is February to November, finding that window."
"So I'd love to see Kyle in an F1 car. It is something that we've discussed and something that I think will happen down the road," he added.

While Larson is set to again attempt the Memorial Day Double of the Coca-Cola 600 and Indy 500 next year with the same team, it will be interesting to see if something along the lines of bagging a ride Formula 1 ride comes up.
