"Nemetruck wrecking people";"Bubba does it again" - NASCAR fans bash Bubba Wallace & John Hunter Nemechek after failed Toyota strategy at Talladega

The 2024 GEICO 500 saw Toyota-backed drivers Bubba Wallace, Denny Hamlin and John Hunter Nemechek get together during the final stage of the 500-mile-long event at Talladega Superspeedway.

In a bid to force their hand against the fuel-saving strategy of the rest of the field by drafting each other and going flat out during the race, the Toyota drivers were on to what could have possibly been the winning strategy during NASCAR's new era of fuel mileage racing at Superspeedways.

However, fans were unable to see this play out as the said Toyota-manufactured cars got into a big crash involving several vehicles. Erik Jones, Bubba Wallace, John Hunter Nemechek and Denny Hamlin were seen with varying levels of damage after the drivers bump-drafted aggressively.

This ultimately brought a premature end to the Japanese automotive giants' strategy to win the 500-mile-long event. Fans were quick to blame Wallace and Nemechek, and here are some of their reactions:

"Nemetruck wrecking people once again."
"Bubba does it again."
"quite the implosion lmao," exclaimed another fan.
"What was JHN doing? Tried to push thru 3 other cars looks like.." said another.
"Way to go Bubba. Once again you provided you don't belong in a race car. Toyota should pull there support to this team if they don't make the much needed changes," added one fan.
"Bubba says “caught up in somebody else’s mess” dude you made the damn mess cmon Bubby," said yet another.

Drivers will head to Dover Motor Speedway next weekend as NASCAR prepares for the 2024 Wurth 400 at the Delaware track.

Bubba Wallace sums up late race crash during 2024 NASCAR Cup race at Talladega

After being released from the infield care center at Talladega Superspeedway, 23XI Racing driver Bubba Wallace elaborated on what went down during the #23 Toyota Camry XSE driver's crash.

Wallace spoke about how the incident was a by-product of hard racing as the 500-mile-long event neared its end. He told NASCAR on TSN:

"We were all pushing really hard to keep our line going and we had a plan. Just didn't execute it as well as we should. Look forward to running these places and then you just get trapped in somebody else's mess. Doesn't make us look good at all. We'll just reset and go to Dover (Motor Speedway)."

NASCAR goes live from Dover Motor Speedway on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 2:00 pm ET.
