Netflix is preparing to present a new NASCAR documentary titled "NASCAR: Full Speed".
Starting from January 30th, viewers can expect to go behind the scenes of the NASCAR Cup Series, specifically the 2023 playoffs. The documentary will reportedly explore the demanding emotional and physical aspects of competing for a championship.
Following the recent release of the official trailer, Tim Clark, NASCAR's Senior Vice President and Chief Digital Officer, expressed his enthusiasm for the series. He was quoted as saying to PEOPLE.com:
“NASCAR has kicked down the door to an entirely new era recently - with new tracks, cars, team owners, and stars combining to deliver some of the best competition the sport has ever seen.”
“Now is the perfect time to introduce people to the characters, competition and chaos that make NASCAR so compelling while still giving our most passionate fans plenty of new insights into their favorite teams and drivers," he added.
"Full Speed" will reportedly show the inside world of Cup Series racing. The documentary will star nine drivers: Ross Chastain, Bubba Wallace, Denny Hamlin, Kyle Larson, Joey Logano, Christopher Bell, Tyler Reddick, William Byron, and 2023 champion Ryan Blaney.
Dale Earnhardt Jr., NASCAR Hall of Famer and executive producer of the show, knows a lot about the intensity of the playoffs having competed in them himself. He spoke about the upcoming documentary and emphasized the distinctiveness of the playoffs elimination format.
Earnhardt Jr. told PEOPLE.com:
“The intensity of the elimination format in the NASCAR Playoffs is unlike anything else in motorsports.”
"NASCAR: Full Speed provides an incredible opportunity for folks to learn more about how this sport works, who these drivers are as people and competitors, and what makes them the best in the world at what they do.”
"Full Speed" will reportedly offer an intimate look at the drivers, teams, and rivalries that define the sport.
