Gianna Tulio celebrated the birthday of her now-husband, Ryan Blaney. The couple had breakfast at a seafood restaurant in Florida, where they enjoyed an ocean view.
Ryan Blaney is a now-31-year-old NASCAR Cup Series driver piloting the No. 12 Ford Mustang for Team Penske. He recently married Tulio on December 12 in Aspen, Colorado after their engagement in late 2023.
Gianna Tulio shared a short clip of her breakfast with Blaney on her Instagram story as they celebrated his birthday.
"Husband's birthday breakfast w a view," Tulio wrote.
Below is a screenshot of their view, shared by Tulio.
Based on the IG story, the couple had breakfast at Sunset Pier, a seafood restaurant in Key West, Florida. The post also captured the NASCAR driver starting his birthday with blueberry waffles.
Although the wedding day may be recent, the couple isn't on their honeymoon yet. They scheduled their honeymoon sometime in April, while the NASCAR season is underway. They want to spend the off-season with their animals at home, according to Tulio.
The wedding came on the heels of the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season where Ryan Blaney got close to going back-to-back. He competed against Team Penske teammate Joey Logano for the championship at Phoenix Raceway but the No. 22 driver got the best of him.
Regardless, Team Penske scored a three-peat this year.
Blaney concluded the season with three wins, 12 top-5s, and 18 top-10s. He also earned one pole position at Bristol Motor Speedway (spring).
"I haven't shown it even to my wife": Ryan Blaney shared keeping NASCAR secret from wife Gianna
With Ryan Blaney losing the championship to Joey Logano, the driver had to pass the NASCAR Champion's Journal to his teammate. Blaney honored the agreement and kept the journal's exclusivity, even from his now-wife, Gianna Tulio.
For the uninitiated, the Champion's Journal is a tradition started by Jimmie Johnson in 2010. The journal contains confidential messages from Cup Series champions only, meaning no one except them knows the book's contents.
Blaney said (via Sportsnaut):
“That’s a secret. The Champions Journal is something that, you know, a driver started, you know, over a decade ago and all the champions write in it. Each year it gets handed off to the next champion and the next champion. It was a fantastic chance. Only champions get to read."
The 2023 NASCAR champ even kept the secret from his wife, saying:
"I haven’t shown it even to Gianna because it is a closed eyes’ only thing."
Since the beginning of the tradition, the Champion's Journal has been passed down to NASCAR drivers Jimmie Johnson, Tony Stewart, Brad Keselowski, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr., Joey Logano, Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, and Ryan Blaney.
The journal should now be in Logano's hands after he won his third championship this year. He is the 10th NASCAR driver in history to achieve the feat.
