Two-time Truck Series winner Nick Sanchez is moving up to the Xfinity Series in 2025. The 23-year-old will drive the #48 Big Machine Racing Chevrolet full-time next year.

The news was confirmed by motorsports insider Kelly Crandall on X (formerly Twitter). The journalist also noted that Spiked Coolers and Gainbridge will sponsor the driver in his move to the next level.

The four-time ARCA Menards Series winner also shared the news on X and posted a photo alongside members of the Big Machine Racing team. Sanchez wrote:

"Excited to share that in 2025 I'll be joining [Big Machine Racing] driving the No. 48 in Xfinity Series. Thank you to [Scott Borchetta], [Chevrolet], and [Gainbridge] for this big opportunity. Ready to get to work with [Patrick Donahue] and the whole BMR team next year!"

Sanchez replaces Parker Kligerman behind the wheel of the #48 machine, who recently announced his intentions to step away from full-time racing after the 2024 season. Kligerman returned to full-time competition when he joined the team in 2023 after racing part-time over the previous eight seasons. This season, the NASCAR on NBC reporter has recorded four top-five finishes, a stage win, and currently ranks ninth in the season standings.

Sanchez has eight previous Xfinity Series starts and has posted one career top 10. He's currently fourth in the Truck Series standings and has piloted the #2 Rev Racing Chevrolet to two victories this season at Daytona and Charlotte, along with eight top-fives, two poles, and a stage victory.

Amid the first round of the playoffs, Sanchez is 34 points above the cut-line to advance with two races remaining in the round.

Nick Sanchez's journey through the ranks

Nick Sanchez first got a taste of NASCAR competition when he joined the Drive for Diversity program, driving for Rev Racing in the Whelen Modified Series and the ARCA Menards Series East in 2019. He earned the Wendell Scott Trailblazer Award that same year.

Sanchez moved to full-time competition in the ARCA Menards Series East in 2020. In six starts, he recorded four top-10s and two top-fives. He made six more appearances in the series across the next two years, posting four top-10s and three top-five finishes.

Sanchez jumped to the primary ARCA Menards Series in 2021, still competing for Rev Racing. The Florida native won the final race of the season at Kansas that year for his first career victory. He backed that up with three more wins in the 2022 season.

Sanchez moved up to the Truck Series in 2023 with Rev Racing, winning Rookie of the Year honors and was the sole rookie to make the playoffs that year. This year, Sanchez won the season-opening race at Daytona and later won at Charlotte in May, earning him 10 playoff points in his quest for the championship.
