Tempers flared during the NASCAR Truck race at Nashville Superspeedway as Stefan Parsons and Layne Riggs engaged in a heated battle throughout the night, with the latter wrecking his rival.

In the Rackley Roofing 200 Truck race, Parsons and Riggs made contact multiple times. Before the end of the second stage, Riggs, driving the #38 Front Row Motorsports truck, bumped Parsons' #75 Henderson Motorsports Chevy, sending the latter driver into the outside barrier.

Stefan Parsons expressed his frustration with how rookie Layne Riggs handled the situation. Parsons acknowledged that Riggs would be upset with their previous contacts, but firmly stated that wrecking someone was not justifiable. In the post-race interview with Bob Pockrass, he said:

"You know, we fired off okay, and then Chris made some really good adjustments there in the second stage, and we got up there into the top ten. I felt like we were about to have a good night. It’s unfortunate that that derailed that, and then, I mean, look, I knew he was going to be upset, but I don’t care how upset you are, there’s no excuse to just absolutely junk somebody, especially a place as fast as this. I don’t see any world in which that’s okay."
"So it’s unfortunate. Not the night we wanted. But we’ll regroup. We have a small group here at Henderson Motorsports, but a really strong group. Really proud of all my guys, and we’ll go get them at the next one," he added.

Layne Riggs was held for two laps due to the incident but still managed to finish ahead of Stefan Parsons. Riggs was classified 25th, with Parsons finishing one spot behind him. The two drivers also had a confrontation after the race.

Layne Riggs justifies his contact with Stefan Parsons

The #38 Front Row Motorsports Truck driver was upset with the penalty, arguing that many Cup Series drivers have walked away without any penalties for such incidents.

Layne Riggs elaborated in the post-race interview that he merely bumped Parsons's #75 Chevy and didn't right-hook him, which normally results in a slam dunk suspension. He said in the post-race interview with Bob Pockrass:

"I’ve never seen that before. I watch the Cup Series every single weekend. I see people getting into it here and there, and you know, it wasn’t like I right hooked him into the wall. You know, I went down into the corner and gave him a bump back. You know, he ran us up the track three times."
"So, I don’t agree with the decision at all, especially when you have the people that you look up to racing on Sundays do the same kind of stuff on Sunday afternoons."

Layne Riggs sought clarification from NASCAR regarding why his contact warranted a penalty. He was frustrated with the decision that put him two laps down on the leaders.
