NASCAR trailblazer Danica Patrick stunned in a black and golden outfit at the 6.2-kilometer Las Vegas Formula 1 strip. This last weekend she rejoined Sky Sports as an F1 analyst and following the most recent 50-lap event at the heart of Nevada, the F1 pundit was seen alongside her crew from the Sky Sports F1 broadcast team.
Flaunting her dress paired with a pair of high-heeled, black shiny boots, the 42-year-old Wisconsin native turned numerous eyes. However, no one could tell that she had been spending sleepless nights due to the 2024 F1 schedule which had not one, not two, but six-night races starting with the season opener Bahrain Grand Prix. Notably, the first night race in the F1 calendar took place back in 2008, i.e., the Singapore Grand Prix.
Patrick uploaded a few snaps from the night on Instagram with the caption:
“I am now nocturnal after that schedule 🤪 but we had a lot of fun!!!!! @maxverstappen1 is now 4 time champ…. In a row! And Mercedes was 1-2! 🏆🏁”
Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen finished fifth en route to his fourth consecutive championship title, while his teammate Sergio Perez delivered a P10 finish. British speedsters George Russell and Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes finished first and second, earning 25 and 18 points, respectively.
One would agree that Danica Patrick never fails to impress with her outfits. At the Grand Prix in Austin, she was seen wearing a white and sky blue checkered mini dress paired with white boots, while earlier in Texas, she rocked a matte black dress and long beige boots.
Danica Patrick sparks anger of the fans following F1 pundit’s Sky Sports exit
Damon Hill, who won the Formula One World Championship in 1996, has been a longtime member of the Sky Sports broadcast team. However, through a recent and quite unexpected post on X, formerly known as Twitter, the 64-year-old announced his exit from the Sky Sports F1 roster.
“It’s been a fantastic 13 years with Sky Sports F1 but all good things come to an end,” Hill wrote. “I will miss the most impressive bunch of professionals it has ever been my pleasure to have worked with. Looking forward to new challenges.”
Fans weren’t happy when they read Hill’s post. Some of them even wondered why Sky Sports was keeping Danica Patrick on the team whilst letting Hill go.
"Getting rid of another guy who knows what he's talking about for who? Another Danica Patrick," a fan commented.
Here are a few other reactions to Hill's post:
"So sorry you are leaving champ, i feared this when @SkySportsF1 snubbed you at Spa and the under use of you yet putting the absolutely dreadful Dancia Patrick on air. Hope @C4F1 sign you up, more intelligent coverage whilst Sky go down the dumbed down route with Patrick & Chandok," a fan wrote.
"Shame to see one of the best pundits on there leaving. Any chance you could take Danica with you to save us the pain of listening to her every week," said another.
"Your insight truly will be missed, Damon. Now it’s time that Sky Sports do the right thing and get rid of Danica Patrick," someone commented.
"Damon Hill leaves but Danica Patrick stays? Make it make sense…" said another.
Earlier, Danica Patrick had received backlash from the fans for her controversial comments on Sky F1’s children’s broadcast. She allegedly said,
“I think that the nature of the sport is masculine. It’s aggressive…You have to handle the car—not only just the car because that’s skill, but the mindset that it takes to be really good is something that’s not normal in a feminine mind, a female mind.” (via Planet F1)
Furthermore, she became the egg of wrath when she invited certain personalities who advocate against climate change and environmental sustainability to her Pretty Intense podcast. F1 icons like Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel have, for long, voiced their opinions in favor of Formula One moving towards zero carbon emission by 2030.
