"Not something I understand": Amy Earnhardt candidly reveals Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s annoying habit

Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s wife, Amy, recently revealed a habit of her husband she doesn't understand. Amy Earnhardt was the guest on her husband's podcast show, the Dale Jr. Download.

And it was during their conversation that the couple were asked to name their partner's habit they don't understand, to which Amy said:

"His hobby that's annoying is the video games. I understand why he iRaces, I understand the Lego thing, but playing Madden at 49 years old in the middle of the afternoon is not something I understand." [32:40]

This prompted her husband to respond:

"I played it for maybe like 3 hours total since it came out, and she's like, 'What are you doing? Why are you playing it?'"

Amy revealed that one time she walked in, saw Junior playing the video game, and simply walked out. In his defense, Dale Earnhardt Jr. claimed that there are "50 million other people" who are gamers, to which Amy reminded him that they are "far younger" than him, to which Junior said that she'd be "shocked."

As Earnhardt tried to make his case further by mentioning that there are plenty of 50-year-old men who play video games, his wife hilariously cut him mid-sentence and added:

"...getting equal side eye from their wives, that's just what's happening."

What is Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s favorite video game?

During an Ask Jr. segment on his podcast in 2023, Dale Earnhardt Jr. spoke about the video games he spends most time on and his go-to games.

"Obviously iracing is what I spent 90% of my time gaming and playing. I don't do consoles right now. I've been in and out of consoles usually if I'm on a console, I'm playing Madden and I'll be honest with you, I played Madden a lot back in the day," he said. [3:08]

Junior remarked that Madden "got too hard." He said that if one wants to be good at Madden, they have to play it all day. Earnhardt claimed he was "really good at it" years ago, but now with the added complications in the game, if one doesn't know those, they'll have no chance.

Speaking further about his video game hobby, Dale Earnhardt Jr. claimed he likes to play Madden on his console, and when he's not on iracing, he likes to play Hell Let Loose and Squad. Junior revealed he finds first-person games pretty fun and deemed Hell Let Loose "a pretty good time."

Having said that, he added that he doesn't enjoy games like Call of Duty which have a lot of running and fast-paced action. To Dale Earnhardt Jr., all of that is "silly", and he doesn't get it.

Instead, he prefers the slower games where one has to be careful.
