Noah Gragson has signed a full-time Cup Series deal with Front Row Motorsports following the news of Stewart-Haas Racing's NASCAR exit. However, Gragson has said that he prefers to work alongside his present crew members at Stewart-Haas.
In a recent interview with SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, the 25-year-old driver also stated that other than the news of his move to FRM, nothing has been confirmed yet.
In May, Front Row Motorsports announced that they would expand their Cup Series operations to a three-car program. One of their drivers and former Daytona 500 winner, Michael McDowell, is expected to leave FRM for Spire Motorsports in 2025. Todd Gilliland will return in 2025 to pilot the #38 Front Row Motorsports Mustang, while Noah Gragson will also join the roster as per the reports.
Everyone else on the No. 10 SHR team, including Gragson's current crew members, also needs a new team.
Gragson expressed his desire to stay with his crew chief at Stewart-Haas Racing, Drew Blickensderfer:
"I would like to stay with Drew Blickensderfer and the group of 10 guys that we have over at Stewart-Haas. Obviously with them closing doors at the end of the year, all those guys need opportunities too."
Although there are a lot of things to work on right now, Noah Gragson is fixated at running well in the races that he still has on his plate as a Stewart-Haas Racing driver. Speaking of them, the Las Vegas native said,
"We still have a long way to go this year... races to compete in... but looking on to next year, it's an exciting opportunity and one that I'm very grateful for. Nothing's finalized yet... car number and sponsors, who the crew's gonna be, but we're working on stuff."
With 6 races to go till the postseason, Noah Gragson is 23rd on the NASCAR Cup Series standings with 353 points to his name. His next race is on July 14 at Pocono Raceway.
The HighPoint.com 400 will kick off at 2:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on USA Network and NBC Sports. It can also be heard live on MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
"I didn’t enjoy racing" - Noah Gragson reveals the aftermath of his 2023 career slump
Last year, Noah Gragson drove 21 races as a Cup Series Rookie for Legacy Motor Club. However, he was suspended from NASCAR and released from the team for liking a racially-tinged meme on social media following the brutal murder of George Floyd. Although he was reinstated in September, he did not race for the remainder of the season.
Recalling the same, Gragson said that he had given up on racing at the time and was prepared to fly back to his hometown. Nevertheless, this year, he found his love for racing again with Stewart-Haas Racing signing him in a multi-year deal (via On3):
"Last year, I was probably the most down on myself. I was ready to move back to Vegas and go do landscaping or build pools out there. I didn’t enjoy racing anymore," Gragson said.
"This year, I found my love for the sport again. I found out why I wanted to do it, and I found myself. My appreciation for the sport has flipped 180 in the last 12 months. A big part of that is the people that I have around me.”
In the 20 starts that he has made this season, Noah Gragson flaunts a top-5 and six top-10 finishes. He has led 10 laps so far this year and will be looking to bag his first Cup.
