The NASCAR fanbase has chimed in, reacting to Kevin Harvick's choice of Hendrick Motorsports legend when asked to pick from either Jimmie Johnson or Jeff Gordon.

The epitome of high-octane stock car racing has witnessed several greats cement their place among the best NASCAR drivers. Back in 1949, the first season of the Cup Series was flagged off, and since then, 36 drivers have claimed the highly-coveted Cup Series title to their name.

However, a few dominant drivers like Richard Petty, Dale Earnhardt Sr., Jimmie Johnson, Jeff Gordon, Cale Yarborough, and many others have bagged the title many times during their motorsport stint. Among them are Johnson and Gordon, who exercised their superiority by fielding the Hendrick Motorsports cars.

Gordon ventured into HMS in 1992 and has collected four Cup Series titles, 93 race wins, 325 top-5 finishes, and 475 top-10 through his last race in 2015. On the other hand, Johnson was fielding the Xfinity car for Herzog Motorsports, but after the team lost their sponsor in 2000, Jeff Gordon vouched for Jimmie to with signed in HMS.

His time with the North Carolina-based outfit and crew chief Chad Knaus worked wonders as the duo raked in seven NASCAR Cup Series titles, from which five were back-to-back from 2006 to 2010. However, despite having three more championships under his belt, it seems like Johnson couldn't make himself a better option than Jeff Gordon for Kevin Harvick.

When a fan asked to differentiate between Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon, Harvick gave a one-word reply with no reasoning, citing the clarity of his choice. He wrote (via X):

"Jeff"

Witnessing Kevin Harvick's conclusive answer and the following influx of questions from other people, one fan wrote:

"Oh my god. The drama"

Seeing the legendary NASCAR driver answering the fan's question, several others chimed in with two driver names handy:

"Kyle Larson or Jeff Gordon," asked one.
"Dale Or Petty?" another fan queried.

One fan brought the legendary Earnhardt father-son duo into the picture, asking:

"Answer THIS random fun question… Dale, Dale, or Dale?"

This fan believed someone hacked Kevin Harvick's account and wrote:

"Ok, who hacked Kevin’s account?"

One fan took a hysterical dig at Harvick's son Keelan, commenting:

"This must be Keelan. lol"

Kevin Harvick sheds light on Michael Jordan's "passion and enthusiasm" for NASCAR

The GEICO 500 marked the tenth Cup Series race on the calendar and was hosted by the 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway. After a tight final lap battle for contention against the likes of Brad Keselowski, Michael McDowell, and Noah Gragson, 23XI Racing driver Tyler Reddick narrowly escaped from being trapped in McDowell's mess after the latter spun out during the final sprint to the checkered flag.

The brave maneuver handed Reddick and the team's first win of the season, and the #45 driver now has the Talladega win, four top-5s, and seven top-10s, placing him at fifth in the rankings. As an owner, this was Michael Jordan's sixth Cup Series victory, but what's more special about it is that the NBA legend was, for the first time, present in person and celebrated the exhilarating win.

Seeing the enthusiasm of the 61-year-old Jordan, Kevin Harvick was impressed and shared his thoughts on the same during 'Kevin Harvick's Happy Hour' podcast (09.39):

"The best thing thing that I've seen this year is Michael Jordan in victory lane and being able to see his own car win. I think as much effort and time that he has put in to be able to actually physically be there in victory lane was a win for everybody on his team, everybody involved, everybody in the sport."
"Michael Jordan, you could hear the passion and enthusiasm that he has for this sport when Jamie Little interviewed him afterwards," added Harvick.
