Bubba Wallace recently took to his official social media account to share his inability to run in the iRacing event during the ongoing off-season break. Sharing an update on X, the 23XI Racing driver stated that his wife, Amanda Wallace, had a strong role in preventing him from running in the online tournament.
Racing drivers are no strangers to online racing games such as iRacing, and Wallace is no different. Even though he was interested in running in the event, the obstacle came from his wife. The reason? Their newborn baby.
According to the NASCAR driver, as soon as they knew about their pregnancy, Mrs. Wallace ordered Bubba to pack up his racing simulator and move it out of the room. He shared the information on social media after a fan asked if he was interested in running in the iRacing event.
"Haha sounds fun. But as soon as we announced we were pregnant…wifey said pack your shit up and move it out! That shit was my sim rig. It’s Becks new now," he wrote. "How about next year? New crib almost done."
Bubba Wallace and his wife, Amanda Wallace, became parents on September 29 last year after the latter gave birth to a son, named Becks Hayden. The newborn is the couple's first child together.
Bubba and Amanda got engaged on July 30, 2021, after years of being in a relationship. They got married one-and-a-half years later on December 31, 2022.
Bubba Wallace and his wife, Amanda's life changed after baby Becks' arrival
After Becks Hayden came into their lives, Bubba and his wife, Amanda Wallace's life changed to a great extent, revealed the 23XI Racing driver. From big to small, the two had to make adjustments here and there to fit baby Becks into their busy lifestyle.
In one of his interviews, the #23 driver opened up about adapting to life with their newborn. Here's what he said:
"We went to brunch the other day, and my man's passed out for the last hour and a half sitting there. We're having a nice talk at the table, and as soon as the food comes, he is wide awake, screaming, wanting to feed, and it's like ‘ooh man, sorry mama, you got to wait to eat now. He's got to eat."
"It takes a little bit more time, I say add on 15 minutes to what you previously would do—you’re going to be 15 minutes late,” he said. “You know, that's OK. You got a pretty damn good excuse. “But it’s all been great, it’s all been fun. He’s healthy, mama’s healthy, so it’s good."
On the racing front, Bubba Wallace signed a contract extension with 23XI Racing last year and will continue to drive the #23 Toyota Camry XSE for the team. He will compete in the Cup Series alongside teammates Tyler Reddick and Riley Herbst.
