Last year in September, NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Parker Kligerman announced that he would not be racing full-time ever again. But he is not one to ignore the itch to race. And so, the ex-Big Machine driver signed up for a part-time schedule in 2025. Notably, Kligerman’s retirement from full-time racing is what vacated the spot for Nick Sanchez at Big Machine Racing.
According to a recent post by renowned sports anchor and NASCAR pit reporter Heather Williams, Kligerman will be backed this time by Henderson Motorsports, a team he has worked with before. Driving the No. 75 Henderson Motorsports Chevrolet, Kligerman bagged the checkered flag in a Truck Series race at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in July 2022.
“Abingdon based @HendersonRace will have @pkligerman back in their truck for Daytona,” Williams wrote. “The team hopes to run 10 races this season with Parker behind the wheel for as many races as his schedule will allow.”
Kligerman’s full schedule is yet to be announced. Last year, he ran only 15 races throughout the season but managed to bag a top-5 and six top-10s. He also led 24 laps, finishing 15 on average.
When not racing, Kligerman works as a pit reporter for NASCAR on NBC. He also hosts a podcast named ‘The Money Lap’ alongside former Xfinity Series driver Landon Cassill.
Parker Kligerman to take part in iconic non-NASCAR race in 2025
Parker Kligerman will compete in the 2025 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, scheduled for January 23-26 at Daytona International Speedway, Florida. He will pilot the No. 78 Lamborghini Huracan GT3 EVO2 under a collaboration between Forte Racing and Big Machine Racing.
"I've often talked about how much Scott (Borchetta, founder of Big Machine Racing) and I love all forms of motorsports,” continued Parker Kligerman after making the announcement (via Newsweek). “Over the past few years driving for Big Machine, it's been amazing getting to know him and sharing that passion.”
“When we realized my full-time driving career was coming to an end, we started wondering what cool motorsports adventures we could tackle together. At the top of that list was the Rolex 24,” he added.
Kligerman will be joined by teammate Misha Goikhberg, a contender for the Weather tech SportsCar Championship. Notably, Trackhouse Racing, a full-time NASCAR Cup Series team will also enter this year’s event. Even Cup series regular Austin Cindric will join the roster.
Fans can watch the race on NBC and Peacock from 1:30 pm ET onwards. Following this, the live stream will shift to USA Network and Peacock between 2:30 and 6:30 pm.
