On the latest episode of "The Dale Jr. Download" podcast, the two hosts Amy Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt Jr were discussing the benefit of a new trend people were participating in, which was Dry January. They stated their disinterest and confusion on the topic.

Dale Earnhardt said:

"I'm so disappointed when I hear that. When somebody tells me that they are taking a month off, they need to just quit altogether."

Amy added:

"I don't believe in dry january, why does everybody have to do it for that long? Is everybody drinking so much that they feel like they need to detoxify for 30 days. A week's good enough. I don't think people that do that should be trusted."

Dry January is a practice where people abstain from drinking alcohol for the first month of a new year. This is done to cleanse oneself from the binge drinking during the holiday season. Although some do not understand the point of it as people will start following their usual habits the month after.

The podcast hosts, Dale Earnhardt Jr and Amy Earnhardt, are one of the cherished couples in the NASCAR industry. Their podcast launched in 2013 in which Dale discusses topics with his wife about his racing experiences, personal opinions and life advice.

The couple had met in 2009 as a happenstance. Dale Jr. had hired her as an interior designer for his home. In due course, their professionally collaborative relationship turned into a romantic one. Years after dating, they got engaged on June 17th, 2015 and soon after got married.

Despite their busy schedules, they make time for family as they also have two daughters.
