The NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs are in their final stages and Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s team JR Motorsports' driver Justin Allgaier is at the top of the standings. Justin finished fifth in the qualifying for the Credit One NASCAR Amex Credit Card 300 and also mentioned an uncanny source of inspiration, revealing a WWE figurine he had in the car during the qualifying laps.

The Illinois native had a best time of 33.22 seconds and clocked a top speed of 162.553 mph to qualify 0.152 seconds behind the leader, Chandler Smith.

Speaking with NASCAR afterward, Allgaier presented a figure of a former WWE wrestler, Diamond Dallas Page. The interviewer asked the driver if this was his good luck charm, to which he responded:

"I don't know if I'd say good luck charm, but, you know, one of the things that we kind of went through was, when we weren't having the playoffs, that we wanted to really the stretch of races we were wanted to, Jim Pullman went to work, and we had a we had a little come to Jesus meeting, right? And one of the things that he put was, pressure is a privilege, and pressure makes diamonds, right? And so we kind of ran with it," Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s team driver replied. [00:16]

He continued:

"Obviously, we've had a lot of wrestling promos here lately, on, on network. And so it was cool to see the little character come up," he added.

Referring to himself as an 'old-school wrestling fan', the 38-year-old further added:

"So it was cool to see the little character come up you know obviously as a old school wrestling fan. He was in my era of watching wrestling. So, really, really cool to have the little character, it was on the car," [00:42]

Earlier, the #17 Chevy driver, Cole Custer had made an unexpected appearance on the WWE NXT stage ahead of the Homestead-Miami race. He joined a tag team match alongside Hank & Tank and faced off against the team On the Move on October 23, 2024.
