Team Penske teammates Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney appeared in an interview in a lighthearted video tweeted by the team yesterday. The team's NASCAR and IndyCar drivers were asked if they wanted to be pirates, cowboys, or samurai.
Six Penske drivers participated in the interaction: the NASCAR Cup Series' Logano, Blaney and their teammate Austin Cindric, and IndyCar's Josef Newgarden, Scott McLaughlin, and Will Power.
"A pirate, you're a criminal, and the sea would suck," Ryan Blaney said. "Cowboy, super hot on the desert, probably get bit by a rattlesnake. Samurai? Nope, but gotta be sweet."
Logano chose to be a cowboy, while Cindric went for samurai. The IndyCar drivers Newgarden and McLaughlin wanted to be samurais, whereas Power chose to go the cowboy way.
The video has fetched nearly six thousand views so far. Fans also shared their reactions in the comment section.
Logano and Blaney lit off the season-ending NASCAR Championship 4 race at Phoenix in November this year. The two Ford Mustang Dark Horse drivers fought against each other for the ultimate trophy, where the #22 Logano prevailed over the #12 driver.
Ryan Blaney responded to Team Penske and Joey Logano's championship criticism
Ryan Blaney slammed critics of Team Penske and Joey Logano after the Roger Penske-owned team claimed its third consecutive Cup Series title last month. Logano held off his Penske teammate, Blaney, to win the NASCAR Championship 4 race at Phoenix Raceway. After the victories, fans and experts called them out for an average show with neither the best team nor driver statistics.
Kyle Larson of Hendrick Motorsports claimed the most victories (6) this season, while Tyler Reddick of 23XI Racing was the regular season champion.
"We go through it every year, ’22, ’23, and this year. We sit around and beginning of the year and in the summer a little bit, and come into playoff time, all of our employees have to sit around and listen to people saying that we suck and we don’t deserve to be here and why are they in the playoffs and all that **** and we’ve won the last three championships," Ryan Blaney said.
Logano claimed the 2022 Cup Series Championship at Phoenix, and Blaney followed in his teammate's footsteps next season by winning another championship. For the Roger Penske-owned team, 2024's title marked its third in a row.
