Two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch has experienced the toughest season of his career this year, while his nine-year-old son, Brexton, attained a few accomplishments. Busch took to X and expressed his feelings on the proud moment for his son while indicating the big things that happened in 2024.
Brexton Busch is the third-generation driver in the Busch family and the RCR driver's oldest kid. He started his racing career in 2020, driving in the Beginner Box Stock category at the Millibridge Speedway and Mountain Creek Speedway.
Kyle Busch's son looked back on his achievements this year, highlighting his impressive stats of 48 wins, 107 top-five, and 126 top-ten finishes in 134 starts. Brexton also claimed the KKM Challenge Jr. Sprint, Millbridge Restricted Points, PA Speedweek Jr. Sprint, and INEX Winter Nats Bandit championship titles.
Reflecting upon his son's success, the Las Vegas native reshared the post on his X account and wrote:
"Proud is an understatement. Big things happened in 2024, but ready for more in 25! Can start off right next week in Tulsa!!"
While Brexton Busch thrived through the 2024 season, Kyle Busch struggled to score a single win.
“Toughest year of my career”: Kyle Busch reflects on the 2024 Cup Series season
The 2024 season was an absolute disappointment for Richard Childress Racing driver Kyle Busch. This was the worst season of his career as a professional race car driver. Busch failed to win a single race in the Cup Series after 20 years, ending his 19-year streak of consecutive wins each season.
Also, the 39-year-old failed to secure a spot in the playoffs for the first time since 2012. Reflecting upon his struggles faced in the 2024 season, the Cup Series driver tweeted:
"Arguably the toughest year of my career. Full of trials, n heartbreaks. I know my RCR guys r gonna get after it this winter n we’ll come back stronger nxt season. Grateful for all of our partners, helping us do what we love. Thx Rowdy Nation for sticking w me. Y’all r the best💯."
Kyle Busch's last race win came in 2023 at the Enjoy Illinois 300, which took place the World Wide Technology Raceway on June 4, 2023. Since then the #8 Chevy Camaro ZL1 driver has been inches close to the victory but hasn't scored any. He finished as the runner-up at the Darlington Raceway and Daytona International Speedway.
The Cup Series driver's no-win luck followed him to his much-anticipated debut in the USAC National Midget Series. He lost the power of his car in the final laps of his first race, and in the ARP Turkey Night Grand Prix at Ventura Raceway held on November 30, 2024, he failed to even qualify for the main race. However, Kyle Busch has high hopes for his Chili Bowl debut scheduled for 2025.
