Veteran Stewart-Haas Racing spotter Eddie D'Hondt lauded Josh Berry for his commendable P3 finish in the rain-delayed USA Today 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. Two of the three Stewart-Haas Racing drivers made it to the top 3 in the 301-lap event.

Berry's teammate, Chase Briscoe, finished second but unfortunately, Noah Gragson got relegated to a 27th-place finish following a late-race contact with Richard Childress Racing's Austin Dillon and 23XI Racing driver, Bubba Wallace.

D'Hondt took to X to praise Josh Berry and the number 4 team. He said,

"Racin for our jobs !👊🥛"
"Proud of our @StewartHaasRcng #4 team & our continued - never give up - effort. @joshberry is absolutely racin his butt off & @RodneyChilders4 leading us & bringing fast cars every week"
"Congrats @CBellRacing& team(s) on sweeping 🧹 the weekend. 🏁🏁" he added.

Josh Berry too was happy with his performance at the "Magic Mile". Congratulating Christopher Bell on bagging his third win of the season, and mentioning how the rain had an impact on his day, the Ford pilot said (via Stewart-Haas Racing):

"P3 here at New Hampshire. Really solid day; scored stage points early on, ran well...the rain and the rain tires brought in a new opportunity for us and we were able to come from 20th (and) we finished 3rd. Congrats to Christopher (Bell), really felt good to have two of our cars up there battling for win; a lot of positives."

Josh Berry was in a position to win the race as he found himself battling for the lead with race winner Christopher Bell soon after the final late-race restart. However, Bell topped Berry and Briscoe as the trio dashed towards the start-finish line, thanks to Brad Keselowski and Martin Truex Jr.

Josh Berry's crew chief reflects on the missed opportunity for the #4 team

While Martin Truex Jr. ran 21st in the race, he made contact with Brad Keselowski, driver of the #6 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for RFK Racing. The incident brought out the caution flag on lap 210 and also allowed Bell to hold off Berry and Briscoe en route to the victory lane.

Here is a video of the contact:

Recalling the restart, Berry said during his interview (via Stewart-Haas Racing):

"Had a great battle with Chase (Briscoe) there at the end definitely gonna think a lot on that restart what I could have done different."

Reflecting on the same, Berry's crew chief Rodney Childers said on X,

"Didn’t work out there at the end. Didn’t need that last caution with the 6, I think we had a shot. Super proud of @joshberry and everyone on the 4 team.. Everyone did a really nice job all weekend."

As of today, Josh Berry sits 19th on the regular season point standings with 357 points to his name. In his 18 starts this year, the Hendersonville native has achieved two top-5s and four top-10s. His next race is at Nashville Superspeedway on June 30.
