In the NASCAR world, height as a physical attribute doesn't assert dominance while racing from inside the high-octane stock cars. This stature is overlooked when a driver irrespective of their height leaves their fellow competitors in the dust.
The perks of being a driver of short height include comfortably sitting inside the cockpit and hitting a sweet spot on the visibility aspect. However, their height does affect reaching out the pedals, but making necessary adjustments rules out the challenges inside their race cars.
Let's take a look at five active NASCAR Cup Series drivers whose height doesn't stop them from achieving success on the racing tracks.
#5 Kyle Larson
The Hendrick Motorsports star Kyle Larson stands tall at 5 feet 6 inches (168 cm). The #5 Chevy driver is a prime example who has proven that height doesn't play a factor in winning a championship.
With 27 career victories in just over a decade of Cup Series racing, Larson has become a dominant force in the modern era of NASCAR. He is now on the chase for his second Cup Series title and has won four times already this season.
#4 Bubba Wallace
The full-time Cup Series driver Bubba Wallace is 5 feet 6 inches (168 cm) tall. In his fourth season with Michael Jordan-owned team 23XI Racing, Wallace drives the #23 Toyota Camry and has accumulated two triumphs till now.
He missed out on the chance to qualify for the playoffs this year, but has shown his presence in the world of stock car racing. In his 27 starts this Cup season, Wallace has garnered five top-fives and ten top-10 finishes.
#3 AJ Allmendinger
NASCAR veteran AJ Allmendinger stands at 5 feet 6 inches (168 cm). With over 17 years of experience in the Cup Series, Allmendinger currently competes full-time in the Xfinity Series and drives the #16 Chevy for Kaulig Racing.
The two-time Xfinity regular-season champion is set to move back to NASCAR's premier division where he has three victories under his belt including the 2023 Charlotte Roval. So far in his 2024 Xfinity season, Allmendinger is winless but has shown speed by finishing four times inside the top five.
#2 Justin Haley
The Rick Ware Racing driver Justin Haley drives the #51 Ford Mustang. He is 5 feet 2 inches tall and is one of the shortest drivers in NASCAR. Haley got in the spotlight after his first Cup Series victory at the 2019 Coke Zero Sugar 400 race in his third Cup start for Spire Motorsports.
Before his Cup Series stint, Haley secured four and three triumphs in Xfinity and Truck Series, respectively. In his first season with RWR, Haley sits at P32 and has had two top-10 finishes in 27 starts.
#1 Tyler Reddick
The 2024 regular season champion Tyler Reddick stands tall at 5 feet 2 inches. He drives the #45 Toyota Camry for 23XI Racing and is in his fifth full-time Cup Series season.
The two-time Xfinity Series champion has shown that height doesn't determine the skills and achievement a race car driver possesses. With two wins already under his belt this 2024 season, Reddick has also finished 19 times inside the top 10 in 27 starts for 23XI.
