The NASCAR fanbase has reacted to Shane van Gisbergen's post-victory celebration after the Kaulig Racing driver teased rival Austin Hill. This comes after the New Zealander faced a hard challenge from the Richard Childress Racing driver, following which the Xfinity Series race winner did his victory burnouts right beside the #21 Chevy's door.
Shane van Gisbergen bagged his second consecutive Xfinity Series triumph at the Sonoma Raceway. After clinching his first pole start, the Kaulig Racing driver fended off rivals like Sheldon Creed, Sam Mayer, Austin Green, and Austin Hill to come home with his third NASCAR win. Gisbergen's first win came at his debut Cup Series run at the Chicago Street Race last year.
The #97 driver collected the Stage 1 win and bagged the runner-up spot in Stage 2 as Ty Gibbs outperformed the 35-year-old. However, Austin Hill lead the field during the final restart with Shane van Gisbergen running second on the inside line. As they tightly battled for contention, the #97 Chevy driver lunged ahead of the #21 Chevrolet and took the lead, while Hill plummeted to fifth place.
From there, van Gisbergen comfortably led the race and won by a margin of 1.323 seconds over the runner-up Sheldon Creed and 2.486 over Austin Hill. Shortly after coming home with another win, the Kaulig Racing driver celebrated by drifting beside the RCR driver.

The fans quickly noted the #97 driver's payback burnout following which a barrage of reactions poured in.
"Love that SVG was just trolling his ass the entire cooldown lap 😂," one fan wrote.
"Sorry but drifting your entire victory lap while chasing the guy [Austin Hill] who gave you guff earlier is like the most rhinoceros-balled flex on record #XfinitySeries," one fan wrote praising the New Zealander's approach.
"Might be the best burnout in history," another fan commented.
This fan used the "Nana Nana booboo" slang which outlines the supremacy of one over the other by way of taunting.
"Love SVG - always smiling and seems so friendly - and yet still trolling Austin Hill. I'm here for it!" one fan wrote.
"Dawg mentality! SVG is awesome!" another fan added.
Shane van Gisbergen explains his take on race winning move on Austin Hill
The Kaulig Racing driver ventured into the NASCAR Cup Series last year and showcased his road course prowess at the Chicago Street Race. This year, the New Zealander is running full-time in the Xfinity Series, where he raked his first win at the previous race hosted by the Portland International Raceway.
Despite having ups and downs during the season, Shane van Gisbergen hasn't seethed at road course tracks. Moreover, all his NASCAR wins are from road courses, not the ovals. After bagging his maiden victory of the season at the Pacific Office Automation 147, the #97 Chevy driver promised to do "better next time," upon which he stood by at the Sonoma Raceway.
During the final restart on Lap 69, while Austin Hill and Shane van Gisbergen fought door-to-door, Sam Mayer joined the battle, leaving little to no room for the Kaulig Racing driver. Moreover, Hill's reluctance to give room prompted the New Zealander to pull a risky move and slightly nudged the #21 Chevy before taking the lead.
After doing his traditional punter kick, the Sonoma race winner outlined his run, saying.
"What a race. It went up and down all day and at the last restart, I just gave it all I had and two guys going for the same piece of real estate came together. It was pretty awesome, lot of fun, hope everyone enjoyed the show, and pretty awesome back-to-back weeks for us," van Gisbergen said via FOX: NASCAR on X. (0.26)
Despite the heartbreaking loss, Austin Hill retains his top spot on the Xfinity Series leaderboard with 457 points while Shane van Gisbergen is placed third with a deficit of 154 points.
